The Board of Directors of BotswanaPost invites applications from commercially astute, visionary and accomplished leaders for the position of Chief Executive Officer. Reporting to the Board, you will have overall responsibility for strategic direction, operational performance and financial results, with full profit-and-loss accountability. Your mandate will include diversifying revenue streams across courier services, logistics, e-commerce, insurance brokerage services, financial and digital services; developing commercially viable partnerships; and driving digital innovation and operational efficiency to enhance customer experience and deliver sustainable returns. You will ensure robust corporate governance, effective risk management and sound internal controls, while exercising disciplined financial and investment oversight.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic leadership and execute strategies that drive BotswanaPost’s transformation, commercial growth and long-term sustainability.
- Drive revenue growth and diversification through logistics, e-commerce, digital services, financial services and strategic commercial ventures.
- Identify and develop new business opportunities, strategic partnerships and revenue streams locally, regionally and internationally.
- Champion digital transformation, innovation and operational efficiency to improve service delivery, customer experience and business performance.
- Ensure financial sustainability through prudent financial management, disciplined budgeting, strategic investment and resource optimisation.
- Ensure robust corporate governance, regulatory compliance, effective internal controls and enterprise risk management.
- Lead organisational culture transformation, embedding accountability, integrity, innovation, high performance and customer service excellence.
- Strengthen executive leadership and organisational capability through talent development, succession planning and performance management.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with the Board, Government, regulators and key stakeholders to advance BotswanaPost’s strategic and commercial objectives.
Requirements and Experience:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Law, Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Information Technology, Engineering or a related discipline from a recognised and accredited institution.
- A Master’s degree will be an added advantage.
- At least 12 years of progressive, relevant professional experience.
- At least five years in an executive leadership role within a large or complex organisation.
- Experience in a commercially driven environment, particularly involving business transformation, operational complexity or diversified services, will be an advantage.
- A proven record of business transformation, commercial growth and sustained performance improvement.
- Strong financial judgement and exceptional people leadership.
- Courage, energy and agility to lead change, together with maturity and credibility in stakeholder engagement.
