Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic oversight of the Bank’s AML/CTF/CPF framework to ensure alignment with applicable legislation, regulatory requirements and the Bank’s risk appetite.
- Ensure the adequacy and effectiveness of the AML/CFT/CPF policies, procedures, systems and internal controls in mitigating financial crime risks.
- Monitor the Bank’s adherence to applicable AML/CFT/CPF regulatory obligations and ensure that material compliance gaps, control weaknesses and emerging risks are appropriately addressed.
- Ensure the bank’s adherence to local, international laws, industry regulation and intercompany rules, internal company policies
- Promote ethical conduct and market integrity while ensuring adherence to governance standards.
- Ensure adequacy of the Bank’s compliance policies, governance frameworks and internal controls promoting adherence to applicable regulatory obligations.
- Promote strong compliance culture across the Bank by embedding regulatory accountability, ethical conduct and compliance risk awareness into business decision making.
- Provide strategic oversight of the Bank’s data protection and privacy framework to ensure alignment with applicable legislation, regulatory requirements and recognised good practice.
- Oversee the bank’s approach to managing personal data breaches and privacy incidents, ensuring appropriate escalation, investigation, remediation and regulatory notification where required.
- Provide strategic oversight of the Bank’s compliance risk assessment and monitoring framework to ensure a proactive risk-based approach to identifying and managing compliance exposures.
- Provide strategic leadership in managing the Bank’s relationships with regulatory authorities and other stakeholders on matters relating to regulatory compliance and financial crime prevention.
- Identify capability gaps and develop the technical expertise required to address evolving regulatory and financial crime risks.
- Drive continuous improvement in compliance processes, controls, system and reporting arrangements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Law, Risk Management, Finance, or equivalent.
- A relevant postgraduate qualification would be an added advantage.
- Relevant professional certifications in AML/CFT/CPF, compliance, financial crime prevention or risk management would be advantageous.
- At least 10 years’ experience in Risk, Compliance or Assurance out of which 5 should be at Executive Management level.
- Experience in financial services/banking, regulatory frameworks and ESG governance.
