Key Responsibilities
- Manage receiving staff and ensure accurate documentation, thorough inspection of goods, timely inventory updates, and efficient, compliant receiving operations.
- Manage the daily receiving schedule, ensuring that all incoming shipments are offloaded, inspected for damage, and verified against invoices and delivery notes.
- Ensure the accurate recording of batch numbers, serial numbers, and expiration dates, and investigate and resolve discrepancies involving shortages or overages.
- Oversee the reconciliation of received goods in accordance with warehouse procedures and the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
- Generate reports on receiving performance, discrepancies, and inventory levels.
- Enforce Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards in the receiving bay and storage areas.
- Hire, train, schedule, and evaluate receiving staff, and conduct performance reviews.
Requirements
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Management, or a related field.
- A minimum of seven years’ relevant experience, including at least four years in a senior position in the logistics, warehousing, or transport sector.
- Strong knowledge of warehousing and inventory management is essential.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, as well as strong report-writing skills.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
