Key Responsibilities

• Develops and executes the Business Banking strategy and annual plans/budgets/targets in alignment with the corporate strategy and strategic objectives.
• Oversee sales pipeline development and opportunity conversion.
• Provides strategic direction for the Business Banking portfolio, identifying opportunities for growth , market expansion, customer acquisition and competitive positioning.
• Translate strategic objectives into clear business plans, financial targets, performance measures and execution priorities.
• Monitor business performance against strategic objectives and implement corrective interventions.
• Implement strategies to improve customer and portfolio profitability.
• Monitor pricing and lending margins in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
• Monitor business unit profitability and financial performance.
• Drive the development of a quality lending pipeline.
• Oversee the identification and assessment of business financing opportunities.
• Develop strategies to attract and retain business deposits.
• Monitor deposit growth, concentration risks and ensure funding costs are within budgeted threshold.
• Drive customer acquisition, retention and relationship deepening.
• Ensure business banking products and services respond to customer needs.
• Ensure adherence to applicable banking legislation, regulatory directives and internal policies.
• Ensure appropriate management of anti-money laundering and counter terrorism financing obligations within the function.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or Business Management.
• Master’s degree (MBA,Finance, Business Administration or Strategic Management) is an added advantage
• 10 years within financial sector, with a minimal of 5 to 7 years in Senior Management or specialised commercial/corporate lending environments.
• Demonstrated experience in Corporate Banking and or Business Banking portfolio management
